Why a ring?
The Silver Ring Thing silver ring is not a ‘piece of jewellery.’ The ring is worn as the symbol and constant reminder of a commitment before God to walk in purity and wait until marriage. A ring should ONLY be worn after participating in a Silver Ring Thing program that will help you better understand what it means to live out this decision. The best ways to get a ring are through the Project 434 program with a group or at live show in your community. If you are not able to participate in either of the above two options, you can order your personal Project 434 package.
We don’t believe a silver ring makes students pure any more than a wedding ring makes someone married. However, a ring serves as a constant symbol and reminder of a commitment made before God to honour His will for our lives. Students wear a ring because they are waiting…
BUT RINGS ARE NOT JUST FOR STUDENTS. Parents are also strongly encouraged to wear a ring as a reminder to PRAY for their child, for his/her future spouse, and for their own personal purity and integrity.
